The Longhouse (sleeps up to 12) is built of pink granite and is the left-hand half of an old Breton longhouse. It is about 200 years old and used to be the boulangerie which served the local villagers. The ground floor consists of one large room containing the kitchen/dining area at one end and the lounge at the other end with the staircase in the middle. See the photo gallery at the bottom of this page. The floor is tiled and there is a beautiful persian carpet in the lounge area. There are french-windows leading from the kitchen/dining-area out onto a patio with garden furniture for eating meals outside. The kitchen is very well-equiped with a large 5-burner gas cooker/oven, a microwave, a dish-washer, a toaster and a cafetière and there is a large dining-table with seating for fourteen.
There is also a cloakroom on the ground floor with toilet, basin, washing-machine and ironing facilities. The attractive oak beamed lounge is dominated by the huge original granite fireplace where there is a wood-burning stove for your comfort in Winter in addition to central heating. You will find three sofas in the lounge – one with three places and two with two places. On the first floor we have kept the original oak floor boards and added rugs for warmth underfoot. There is a bathroom with bath, basin and WC and 3 bedrooms one with 2 single beds, one with a double bed and one with 2 sets of bunk beds and a single bed. The bunk room is fitted with dark curtains to improve your chances of a lie-in and also has children’s books and toys! In the attic are 2 further bedrooms and a shower room with shower, sink and toilet. These have attractive wood-panelled ceilings and one has a double and a cot while the other has just a double bed. For babies we can provide cots, high chairs and there are 3 stair-gates. The house is fully centrally heated and is ideal for Christmas and New Year breaks. Book early though!
